This background has led to interest in the use of sound in interface and information design, software, usability and user feedback. His combined experience in design and music issues, has also resulted in new media sound for clients such as Razorfish, Frankfurt Balkind and Hotwired. With Helen Thorington, he helped to found the award-winning online art site Turbulence in 1996. Turbulence has commissioned over 60 artist's works for its online site, with funds from the NEA, NYFA, Greenwall and Jerome Foundations. He created the early Java-based media destruction agent Snuff for the site with programmer Damon Horowitz, on a commission from Turbulence in 1996. Other works include In My Room for Razorfish's theenvelope, an early web-based music video based on his song of the same name. Currently he is working to create a live performance version of Exchange for violin and sounds of the American and New York Stock Exchanges with artist Shannon Kennedy.
